The start of golden autumn was marked with an important event throughout Azerbaijan – from September 30 to October 1 the city of Ganja hosted the International Wine Festival. Taking a little excursus to history, it should be noted that a few years ago on the initiative of the Ganja Executive Head Mr Elmar Valiyev there was reached the agreement on mutual friendship and business partnership with two French regions – Yonne and Chablis. In 2012 it has been decided to hold the country’s first International Wine Festival and since then the event annually opens new and new horizons for Azeri winemakers. This year, during the first day of the event on September 30 the jury consisting of the representatives of participating companies, as well as independent experts from Italy, Moldova, Georgia and Russia held a blind tasting of the wines submitted to the contest under a 100-point system. The board of jury evaluated the taste, aroma and visual features of the submitted samples.
