ABOUT SAVALAN – ASPI WINERY

SAVALAN – ASPI Winery LLC was founded in 2007 by choosing to focus on growing grapes and producing premium quality wines.

Our wines are produced under the guidance of highly qualified Italian oenologists Daniele D’Andrea and Elisa Vagnoni. The SAVALAN team of winemakers is a close-knit international group of people dedicated to their jobs who are knowledgeable experts in their fields. The work done at SAVALAN unites the two sunny and generous countries of Azerbaijan and Italy.

The selection of seedlings to be cultivated at the SAVALAN vineyards was done under the guidance of Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo, including Ermanno Murari who heads the wine testing at VCR, and the director Eugenio Sartori, who noted the world-class quality of the grapes grown on our vineyards.

At SAVALAN our professional expertise, willingness to experiment with varietals and production techniques, and our cutting-edge technology, all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality are the keys to our success.

SAVALAN is reviving the art of winemaking in an area with unique climatic conditions, where the wine industry flourished in ancient times – in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, in the Savalan valley. This is the heart of the Gabala region, considered by many to be the most picturesque, and one which can rightfully be called part of the cradle of winemaking.

VINEYARDS & TERROIR

The Savalan Valley with its exceptional terroir and climatic conditions is the birthplace of one of Azerbaijan’s most unique wines.
The Savalan Valley is bounded by two rivers at an altitude of 400 m above sea level, providing this area with an ideal balance of rain, sun, and average annual temperatures. The place is blessed, almost identical to southern Italy.

THE FACTORY

This is where Azerbaijani winemaking traditions meet advanced Italian technology to create unique wines and distillates.
The factory uses equipment from Della Toffola, and our laboratory is one of the most well-equipped in Europe. Our professional oenologists, Daniele D’Andrea and Elisa Vagnoni, run the wine production process in accordance with modern quality standards, to create many different varieties of wine.
