It is a common knowledge that global warming is one of the most crucial issues of our time. Unfortunately, such irreversible process has a noticeable impact on our planet. It is extremely important to find solutions to deal with these challenges as soon as possible and therefore to turn to sustainable technologies that will help us preserve the Earth for younger generations.
It is noteworthy that an annual UN Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Azerbaijan this year. On this conference’s agenda will be the topics on solutions for burning environmental issues.
It is not surprising that our country was chosen for that event this year. Nowadays Azerbaijan is making great strides towards a “green” economy, gradually introducing new eco-friendly technologies in industry and everyday life.
Speaking of preserving the planet, quite recently SAVALAN- ASPI Winery together with Azerbaijani solar energy company SEES (Smart Energy Engineering Solutions) has delivered an ambitious project in this case. The matter concerns the launch of the first (!) solar power stations in the region of Gabala, namely at the SAVALAN-ASPI Winery. The purpose of these stations is generating energy via solar panels. In the end, a total of three solar power stations were installed, including 879 panels with a capacity of 450 kW. The productivity of these power plants is equal to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 45 tons, which is equivalent to planting approximately 3,000 trees!
Now let us tell you some prehistory of the project. The idea of creating this setup arose several years ago, and its implementation concept was formed after the call of Ilham Aliyev, Mr. President of Azerbaijan Republic, to take a course towards the transition to sustainable economy. On August 31, 2024 our company organized a large-scale presentation of the implemented solar power stations. The event was attended by the following representatives: Chief Executive of the Gabala Region, the Director of State Agency for Renewable Energy, the Head of COP29 administration, local and foreign energy companies’ Executives and Media representatives. We express our sincere gratitude to everyone who shared our joy in achieving another significant milestone in the history of SAVALAN-ASPI Winery!
It is also worth mentioning that the project of ours was covered in a popular Israeli news site.
Thus, from now on, not only our vineyards in Savalan Valley are warmed by the sun, but also the production of your favourite SAVALAN wines is supported by solar energy – today by 20% (!), and in the near future – by 100%. For us, this is not just an ambitious goal, nor it is about merely saving money for electricity. It is a philosophy that reflects our desire to stay at peace with nature!
We would like to express our enormous gratitude to SEES for their work, performed at the highest level of quality and in record-breaking time for such a complex project! On the top of that, we sincerely hope for long-term cooperation and new joint projects!
Best wishes,
