Art and Wine: SAVALAN-ASPI Winery at the 9th Art Zone Symposium in Gabala

SAVALAN-ASPI Winery founders Fuad Seyidaliev and Arif Rahimov with artists at Art Zone symposium, "Artists capturing the picturesque landscapes of Gabala at the Art Zone symposium,

Let’s talk about art, shall we? A true artist must be someone who is deeply touched by beauty and who pays attention to details more than an average person, while seeking unconventional approaches to one’s tasks and breaking standard practice. Moreover, combining dream and reality, opening up new horizons of imagination is a ”smooth sailing” for that type of people.

We believe that creativity can be found in any act if you approach it with love and sparkle in your eyes. SAVALAN-ASPI Winery stands by this attitude – each member of our large team shares a piece of their soul into a common pursuit.

Nonetheless, creative ideas rarely come without inspiration and the latter is what gives naissance to art itself. Winemaking can also be claimed as artwork, so to speak! For that reason we try to participate quite often in art-related events since art fills us with a sense of beauty and inspires us to new achievements!

This year SAVALAN-ASPI Winery once again joined the 9th creative symposium named “Art Zone”, which took place from 9 – 14 September in Gabala. There were special reasons for choosing Gabala as the venue for an art event – this region is famous for its impressive landscapes and is considered as one of the main tourist destinations in Azerbaijan.

It is worth mentioning that this event, as is any other art-event in Azerbaijan, would not happen without our fellow friend and colleague Shakir Eminbeyli, who is an official art ambassador, media manager and journalist in our country. We would like to express our huge gratitude to Shakir muallim for giving us opportunity to annually participate in current creative initiatives and keep in touch with contemporary trends in the world of art.

Once again Azerbaijani artists of the first water took part in ”Art Zone”, namely Aliyar Alimirzoyev, Museyib Amirov, Elena Hagverdiyeva, Vugar Muradov, Elnur Babayev, Ilgar Takhiri and Aydin Askerov. What is more, Bayram Salamov, an artist from Russia, and Vahid Novruzov, a teacher of Fine Arts Department of the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Turkey, also joined Art Zone symposium this year, coming to Azerbaijan from abroad. Our young artists Bakhruz Kengerli, Reyhan Aslanova and Javid Ilham who already made a name in painting sphere also took an active part in symposium.

As part of the program, the symposium participants visited vineyards and SAVALAN-ASPI Winery factory, where they learned about the history of the company and winemaking process.

Throughout this week artists created 30 unique chef-d’oeuvres where they captured picturesque landscapes of Gabala, authentic portrait compositions, attributes of rural and urban life and much more.

Interestingly, wine and art go hand in hand with each other creating exceptional atmosphere of inspiration and freedom. There is some kind of magic in symbiosis of wine and art, from our point of view. A glass of wine can free our thoughts, excite our imagination and help to step away from the hustle and bustle to dive deeper into the creative process. There are good reasons why many great painters, writers and musicians find inspiration in wine…

Just as works of art get into our soul with the harmony, forms and emotions, so wine can captivate with its rich bouquet of aromas and tastes. Thus, SAVALAN wines, imbued with the warmth of the local terroirs, resemble the masterpieces of Azerbaijani artists—capturing not just flavor, but a spectrum of emotions, embodying the profound richness of history and the soul of people.

With all our hearts we appreciate having an ability to be a part of such inspiring events like “Art Zone” and we cannot wait for new art projects!

Best regards,

Fuad Seyidaliev and Arif Rahimov
